MaMana is a free app for rating restaurant dishes, operated by Hippocampia.

Stays on your phone

• Menu photos are read on the device and are not uploaded.
• MaMana over other apps: when you turn it on and tap the floating plate, the screen is read on the device. The screenshot is not stored or sent.

Sent to our server, and why

• Location, while the app is open, to find nearby restaurants. We do not keep a location history.
• Search text: dish and restaurant names you type, or short words recognised on a menu or screen, to find a match.
• Google account: writing a review requires Google sign-in. We store the account id and email address; reviews show only the nickname you choose.
• What you post: reviews, scores, dishes you add and photos you attach. Reviews are public; a private note to a restaurant is visible only to that restaurant.

Where it is kept

Data is stored with Supabase in the EU (Frankfurt). Sign-in goes through Google. We do not sell data, show ads or share data with advertisers.
